About Jill

Hi, I’m Jill! I hail from the heat and humidity of the Deep South. I met my husband in high school, and even though we had an instant chemistry, we spent the better part of a year pretending to ignore each other (we both love a good challenge)! So now, years later, we live on a Farm in a small town (think Steel Magnolias…my Mom even owns a Beauty Salon!) with our two kids, Lucy the Wiener dog, Bella the horse, and our three cats Knox, Stormy and Tiger. I think word has spread in the Animal Kingdom that our house is a sure thing!

My husband is a musician so music is an integral part of our lives. Even though we each enjoy an eclectic mix of genres, music is a thread that weaves our family together. You never know whether it will be Old Crow Medicine Show or Foo Fighters blasting from the kitchen speakers.

My love affair with books began in elementary school at the Library Book Fair. I fell in love with escaping into other worlds, and I’ve been obsessed ever sense. I fell out of reading for pleasure during college. My Library visits consisted of microfiche and stacks of reference books. However, after graduation, I picked up Twilight out of curiosity and found myself hooked into the world of high adventure and all-encompassing love once again. My perfect day would find me curled around a cat on the couch with my Kindle and coffee in hand.

I honestly believe that if more people read, we might be able to accomplish world peace. Books can connect people no matter their gender, ethnicity, or political beliefs. Just get two people that love the same book together and see what happens. Becca and I live almost 2000 miles apart, but The Night Huntress connected us in a mutual love, and we’ve been friends ever since! We look forward to finding many more book loving friends in our new blog adventure.

About Rebecca

Hi, I’m Rebecca! I currently live in the Salt Lake City area, but who knows how long that will last. I’m a book addicted, music obsessed, over thinker. I’m married to the best man, for me, in the galaxy. We are the proud dog parents of Jasper and Emmett (read monster and monster’s monster brother, I may have skimped on behavior training). I overuse exclamation points, have an affinity for positive power words and don’t believe in the Oxford comma.

I began reading in my later teen years, getting hooked on high fantasy novels. From there it wasn’t hard to transition into YA books. I still wasn’t an avid reader but, social life permitting, I would read. Then, Twilight happened to me. I was a hold out. It was too trendy, too cliche, too… Oh, Edward. I fell hard. After devouring the entire series, I wasn’t able to find another book that gave me the same feeling of desperation and soul deep love. Until 50 Shades. Now, I’m not saying 50 Shade is written that well or that I loved it that much, but here’s the thing… it was a real romance book. Like, I was embarrassed to be reading the trade paperback where someone could see me. It opened me up to romance and, more specifically, erotica. It was my gateway book. Now I’m a goner that is always on the hunt for my new book boyfriend (I already have 2 book husbands, my bed is full).

I spend most of my free time thinking, reading or talking about books. I even started a Romance Book Club in good ole’ Salt Lake City, Utah. Believe it or not, I found a small tribe of like minded, dirty book loving friends from it. Our book choices would scandalize our Mormon friends, I’m sure. Now, my book soul mate and I are taking on the blogging world. I know you’ll adore Jill as much as everyone does. She’s the best kind of human, honestly.
